For more than 50 years, John Savoy and Son, Inc. has proven that furniture can be stylish and comfortable as well as durable for the higher education and government markets. Every piece of furniture gives you fashionable styles with the durable Savoy construction such as mortise and tenon with glued and screwed supporting cleats and corner blocks, angled screws through the tenon, and double dowel constructed chairs and lounge furnishings

Founded by John D. Savoy and son, John A., who had returned from the US Navy in 1946 as Savoy’s Machine Woodcarving Shop they machined and hand-carved all the highly ornate parts of living room, bedroom, and family room furniture. For almost three years, they built the operation while working at other full-time employment, John D. at Chesterfield Furniture and John A. at Bethlehem Steel Corporation. Over the next several years, the business began to expand into larger locations as they expanded the line to include furniture frames. In 1954, the business name was changed to John Savoy and Son, Inc and in 1958 they added upholstered furniture to the product line.

 

The business continued to grow and in 1963, John Savoy and Son, Inc. ceased manufacturing home furniture and entered the commercial furniture field, which included the higher education market. Additional floor space was added over the next several years. The Company in 1978 decided to pursue military business, and was successful in obtaining contract on all product lines.

As of 2008, the manufacturing plant has 225,000-square feet under roof in which traditional and contemporary styles of furniture are being manufactured utilizing the latest technology. Because the furniture is completely manufactured at the John Savoy and Son, Inc.’s Pennsylvania Furniture Plant, we have the ability to customize furniture to meet our customer’s need within a short period of time. Presently, we manufacture 8 styles of casegoods, 17 styles of lounge furniture, and numerous tables with seating that is offered in several finishes and over 300 fabric selections. Savoy furniture has a Limited Lifetime Warranty.
