At Savoy, as a family-owned small business, we take every aspect of our company seriously – especially the safety and happiness of our employees.
While Savoy has had no major accidents to warrant an OSHA investigation and has received a better than average rating from the Pennsylvania Compensation Rating Bureau the last six years – not an easy feat for a manufacturing facility that has a workforce fluctuating from roughly 140-170 employees – we are always seeking opportunities to be proactive. A recent addition to our strategy to help ensure the safest work environment possible is our Pennsylvania Certified Safety Committee.
Committee members, a combination of employees and supervisors, were selected and trained by a Risk Control Consultant. The committee meets monthly to discuss any safety concerns and formal meeting notes are posted on company bulletin boards for all employees to view. In addition, they have identified issues/concerns in safety policies and the employee handbook, which have since been addressed.
Although the factory is continuing to maintain a higher than normal production workload, the team has diligently kept on track with monthly meetings and safety tours. The formation of the safety committee, as well as the feedback from our employees, has allowed for every member of the Savoy team to be committed to keeping our plant a safe and clean work environment.
Savoy’s safety committee was formally certified as of October of last year and intends to continue to seek re-certification every year.
Savoy Contract Furniture manufactures all of our traditional and contemporary styles of furniture in our state-of-the-art central Pennsylvania plant, utilizing the most advanced technology available. Handling all orders in-house allows us the flexibility to custom tailor our products to meet your every need. Presently, we manufacture 10 styles of casegoods, 20 styles of upholstered furniture and infinite combinations of tables and seating.
